Laura had her 4 month check up on Thursday. She now weighs 13.5 pounds and is 24" long! She had all of her shots, which made her cry. While the Dr. checked her over, he said, "What healthy rolls!" And she is rolly poly in the thigh area! Her head circumfrence, weight, and height are all in the 50th percentile, just as her 2 month check was. She is still our "perfectly average" baby.
Now on to what you really want to know: Laura's head. The Dr said baby's normally have some flattening since they instituted the "back to sleep" campaign to reduce the rick of SIDS. He said when she started rolling over and moving more, her head should round out. He said not to worry until 6 months, and if there is still a flat spot they could do a CT scan. He wants that to be a last resort though because of the amount of radiation.
So, final word: Don't worry. Give it time. (That's what I keep telling myself!)
