Sweetie

Here is our sweetie on her birthday toy from Briana. It converts from a walking toy that she can push to a riding toy. She can't push herself of course, she just expects us to push her around! Which we do, to her great delight!
She is wearing her birthday dress (which I got at the Children's Place before she was even born because I knew I was going to have a girl.) It's 3 years old, but brand new! Cute never goes out of style!

Pin the Badge on the Sheriff

Laura is so smart! She crawled over to the poster and put the star on all by herself! So of course I had her do it again so I could record her! The poster is from her birthday party. I traced her and hung it up. As the kids came to the party I had crayons ready so they could color her in. Later we played tape the badge on the Sheriff. Laura is practicing up for next year!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Here we are in Arrowhead before church on Valentine's Day. Don't we look great!

Joel's Birthday Party (#2)

Yes, Joel had two parties this year, one in Victorville at the pizza parlor with his family, and the second in Arrowhead with my family and Dad and Holly. It was so snowy that week, Ashleigh had to spend the night at Mom's in Victorville after the party! Both parties were very fun. Kelly and Grandma made a chocolate cake with gooey fudgey frosting and pecans. Yum! For those of you curious to know, he has already spent the money on the Home Depot gift cards; Joel does not wait around! Pictures of that project will be posted later. (And boy, was that a project!!! Even with stitches in my finger he expected me to help lift heavy boards!)

Stitches ...eww yuck!

Laura's bottles are glass, and so when she threw it off the highchair tray it shattered. I wanted to save the lid and nipple and I just grabbed the top and without thinking started t twist it off. Ouch! I grabbed a towel to wrap around my pinky finger which was bleeding profusley and called my Dad. i'm not sure what I expected him to do, since he was at work. He did tell me to call someone to take to the hospital. i called my mother-in-law and she came and got me and Laura. We went to urgent care and after a long wait I got into a room. The nurse was obviously training a girl who wanted to train to become a nurse; she must have been 18 or 19. While the nurse was telling the girl the steps, (fill a bowl with saline, add iodine, get gauze to clean the wound) she was doing the steps at the same time. When she got to cleaning the wound, the girl started to back up saying, "I don't feel so good..." and then she leaned against the wall. The nuse looked at her and then got off the stool and right when she reached her, the girl passed out! The nurse grabbed hold of her and started elling for another nurse to ceome help with the wheelchair, but since the door was closed I wasn't sure anyone would hear. So I grabbed my bloody towel, wrapped it around my hand, which is now bleeding again since they started cleaning it, and jumped of the bed. I grabbed the stool and wheeled it to the nurse. I set the girl on it and pushed her into the corner so she wouldn't fall off. She then went to get the wheelchair, loaded her on, and wheeled her out. The entire time I kept thinking in my mind, "Really? Did she not know there was going to be blood and guts at this job?"
So soon the Dr. came to stitch me up but she was worried. It was a very deep cut and she was worried it might have cut my tendon. She stitched it up but I have to go back to have her look at it. The flap of skin might not be "viable." I'm not sure what that means, but it doesn't sound good! Will they have to graft from a cadeaver? Let's not think about it! Just say a prayer for me that my finger will heal well!

I see you Pason!

While Laura was taking her nap and Perrin was at school, Pason and I played together outside. Laura and I go to Aunt Ashleigh's house every other Thursday to watch the boys since Ashleigh watches Laura for me every other Monday. Terrific arrangement that works out great!

He loves me, he loves me not...

Wow! Farinia at my work came into my office and said "I have a delivery for you!" It was a box of flowers! They were from Joel with a Velentine's Day card inside! How sweet! What a wonderful husband he is! I LOVE YOU JOEL!!!

Peek-a-boo!

I was washing dishes in the kitchen while Laura was playing with some toys in the living room. All of a sudden I heard her laughing, and I looked up and she was on the couch looking at me! She had crawled up on the little footstool and from there crawled up on onto the couch, and then pulled herself up to see me! What a smart girl to figure all that out!

Birthday Sweater from Terry

This handmade sweater was made by Terry, a woman at my work who also made the beautiful birthday bib. Laura looked so happy and cute in her new sweater!

Christmas PJs

Ok, so I really should have posted this in December, but she's as cute now as she was then! She was fresh from her bath, and we had put on her new Christmas pjs. She was crawling around being silly and we just had to take these pictures! When she gets excited, she loves to wave her arms. As you can see, I caught her mid-wave!

Laura's Cowgirl Party!

Thank you to everyone who came to Laura's party. We should have had a long-distance award, would it have gone to Grandma and Grandpa from Camarillo, or De, Gokhan and Gamze from San Diego? We may never know!
Thanks Mom and Dad for getting the food ready, we had 2 9x13's of Cowboy Casserole, 2dutch ovens filled with bacon, sliced potatoes, onions and cheese, and a great salad!
We are very thankful that Laura is in our lives, and that YOU are as well! I guess now's the time to start planning her 2nd birthday! Ha Ha Ha!
